HeartyPatch is discontinued!

This is the second time a biosensor, that I was actively working with, was discontinued. The first time was with the Myo Armband by Thalmic Labs. Fortunately, the product is open-source, so if I need to reproduce the board, I can access the designs. On the flip side, there will be no more updates, so for my sake, I hope the software works as stated.
The discontinuance of the HeartyPatch was announced before my board even arrived. I ‘m not upset about it though. Its great that the success of the HeartyPatch and their other platforms has allowed them to go forward into the medical field, as far as producing certified medical equipment.
I have tried just about every type of sensor to get heart data incorporated into my projects. The PPG sensor works, but not well with dynamic motion, which is what I intend to use it with. I had a chest rig with a ECG sensor board from Sparkfun, which works, but it requires to many cables to be functional outside of basic testing. The HeartyPatch seems promising in these aspects, I’ll see…
